Short Answer Questions
Describe something you have built recently.
Honda OBDapt, a software and hardware system that adapts your 92-95 Honda diagnostic port to an OBD II standard port, readable by any generic scan tool.
Why do you want to work on a startup or side project?
Dissatisfied with contracting for in-house development efforts. Would like to work on software products with a small team.
Anything else you'd like to mention about yourself?
I like to work the problem from all angles. If something is difficult technically, then I step aside and consider the reasons WHY we are doing something. Often, seemingly impossible goals can be achieved just be redefining the problem domain. Communication and negotiation are key in this area. I try to use ALL the tools, social/political, economic, and technical to work a problem or issue. I am a full-life-cycle analyst. I am very iterative. My experience has shown me that that the right mix of big design up-front, iterative methodologies and reasoned objective self-analysis are the most powerful tools for technological and business development. Too often, I see people and companies stuck on doing something the way they planned, which kills their schedule and quality in the end.
